Optus Recruits Telstra’s Golden Boy
Paitaridis will assume the role of Managing Director of Optus Business following his stint as the Executive Director of Network Products and Services at long-time rival Telstra. He will be responsible for the division’s sales, marketing, products, operations and service delivery, in addition to managing Optus’ Alphawest and Uecomm divisions. Paitaridis is determined to increase Optus’ penetration in the enterprise market this year. “In 2012 we will up the ante in the enterprise market by striving to deliver the most compelling ICT solutions and become the service provider of choice for corporate and government customers,” Paitaridis said in a statement. This is the second big telco name Optus has managed to sign on, with the company luring former Hutchison executive Kevin Russell as its new COO. Optus has been pulling in some big telco players in what could be seen as a succession strategy, protecting the company when CEO Paul O’Sullivan decides to step down. |
