More details have been revealed about Insta360’s upcoming X6 camera, two weeks after a previous leak pointed to a redesigned body, upgraded 8K recording and a higher launch price.

Photos of what appears to be the X6’s retail packaging now suggest the flagship 360-degree action camera will launch globally on July 30, although Insta360 has yet to confirm the date.

The packaging claims the X6 can record for up to 140 minutes when shooting 8K 360-degree video at 30 frames per second, potentially delivering a major battery life improvement for creators filming at high resolutions.

The camera is also expected to support 8K recording at up to 50fps, according to earlier leaks.

A new PureVideo Mode is listed on the box, promising improved performance in low-light conditions, alongside an updated ‘Replaceable Lenses 2.0’ system.

The revised lens design could make damaged lenses easier to replace following drops or accidents.

Hands-on images shared online by tipster Igor Bogdanov show the X6 adopting a shorter and wider body than the current X5, while retaining the familiar dual-lens design used for 360-degree capture.

The leaked packaging appears to belong to an Essentials Bundle and lists an Extra Xtreme 2,600mAh battery, 114cm Invisible Selfie Stick, lens cap, charging case, USB-C cable, protective pouch and other accessories.
