Insta360 X6 Leak Points To Redesign, 8K Upgrade And Higher Price
Leaked images of Insta360’s next-generation X6 360-degree action camera suggest the company is preparing one of its biggest updates in recent years, with a redesigned body, upgraded imaging capabilities and a higher launch price.
Images circulating online appear to show a shorter, more compact design with a simplified button layout and a larger rear display, indicating Insta360 has focused on improving usability and appearing like a more traditional action camera shape.
According to the leak, the X6 will support 8K 360-degree video recording at up to 50 frames per second, a notable increase from the previous model’s 8K/30fps capability. The higher frame rate is expected to provide smoother footage for fast-moving action and sports content.

The camera is tipped to feature upgraded image processing and improved low-light performance, although full details have yet to be confirmed.
Pricing is also expected to increase. Leaked European retail listings point to an Australian equivalent of around A$1,135 for the standard X6, while the Essentials Bundle, which includes additional accessories, is expected to be priced at approximately A$1,300, based on current exchange rates. Actual Australian retail pricing may differ.
The news follows the recent announcement of the X6’s FCC certification, a major regulatory hurdle in the US, which indicated the X6 was nearing launch and that an official announcement may be close.
If the leaked specifications prove accurate, Insta360 will be looking to strengthen its position in the increasingly competitive premium 360-camera market.
Specifications and pricing have not been officially confirmed by Insta360.
