Binge has launched on Amazon Prime Video in Australia as an add-on subscription, giving customers access to premium TV shows, live sport and news.

The deal offers two Binge subscription tiers through Prime Video: standard for $19 per month and premium for $22 per month. Subscribers can manage their access through Prime Video, with the option to cancel at any time.

The move expands Prime Video’s growing collection of third-party streaming services and gives Binge another distribution channel as streaming platforms compete for Australian viewers.

Binge’s catalogue includes Australian productions such as Colin From Accounts, Wentworth and High Country, as well as international titles like American Horror Story, Outlander: The Final Season, Saturday Night Live, The Day of the Jackal and The Five Star Weekend.

Also on offer are reality television, comedy, drama and blockbuster movies, giving customers a broad range of entertainment options.

Live sport and news are another part of the proposition. Binge subscribers can access selected sports coverage from Kayo Sports, including AFLW, NRLW and select AFL, NRL, BBL and WBBL games, with no ad breaks during play. It also includes F1 Kayo Minis and surfing coverage.

Live news channels include News24, BBC News, FOX SPORTS News and CNBC.

Alexandra Gilbert, head of content for Prime Video Australia and New Zealand, said the addition of Binge strengthens the platform’s range of entertainment options.

“We’re excited to welcome Binge to Prime Video as our 32nd add-on subscription partner in Australia,” Gilbert said, pointing to the ability for customers to customise their streaming experience via the app.

Foxtel Group executive director of content and commercial partnerships Stephanie Quinn said the partnership would make it easier for Australians to discover Binge’s programming.

The Prime Video add-on lineup already includes HBO Max, Apple TV, Paramount+, MGM+ and Hayu.
