HP Attacks: 13.3″ Cheap HD Ultrabook $1199

Powered by the latest Intel Core processor, HP’s Folio also includes Rapid Start Technology, which mean fast as lightening boot times.

This announcement comes as Asus unleashed Ultrabook Zenbook here just last Friday, with an Acer release set to follow.

Hewlett Packard, who mulled for months over whether to ditch its Personal System Group PC operation are now back with a bang, it seems, and recently announced a new tablet, Slate 2.

Folio, borrowing its name from portfolio (presumably), is looking to bridge the gap between professional and personal and is “the highest performance Ultrabook available,” HP say.

It also sports an array of ports, including Ethernet, USB 3.0, RJ-45 port for connection of a modem to a telephone network.
The HP also includes a backlit keyboard for mobile users who work in low-light conditions and also includes a solid-state drive with 128GB of storage. Not bad.

It is available from December with a starting at a nice price of $1,199 — $200 cheaper than Asus Zenbook’s asking price.

HP’s Envy notebook has also come Down Under, comes with the radiance backlit keyboard that lights up as the user approaches and deactivates after the user leaves.

HP Envy.

Envy also features six powerful Beats Audio built-in speakers and two subwoofers, high-performance audio power developed by HP and Beats by Dr. Dre.

It also sports an all-metal chassis with rounded edges in a classic black and silver finish, and accented by subtle red details and also available from mid December at a starting at $1,699

The 14″ HD LED Pavilion dm4 boasts a 1-inch thin profile in front and similar to the Ultrabook comes with (optional) Intel Smart Response for quicker boot and up to 7 hours of battery life.

It weighs approximately 2kgs and features a soft-touch surface on the palm rest. Beats wise, it comes with two subwoofers and Beats Audio includes an exclusive Beats wallpaper and Beats microfibre sleeve.
