Apple Pay Now Available For CUA Customers
Aussie credit union CUA has added Apple Pay to its mobile wallet offering joining Samsung Pay and Android Pay (now G Pay) with members able to apply for it now.
CUA says Apple Pay with eftpos will enable CUA rediCARD holders to make eftpos purchases on their iPhone or Apple Watch using their own money in real time.
Matthew Lobdell, head of payments at CUA says, “CUA is working to be available to our members anywhere, anytime, and that means giving them a choice in how they interact with CUA and manage their banking, including access to digital channels and Apple Pay.
“We are excited today to extend the convenience of secure, in-store mobile payments to even more of our members. We already offer members the option of using their CUA Visa debit card or CUA credit card with Apple Pay, so today’s announcement means Apple Pay is now available across the full range of CUA-issued cards.”
When CUA members use their rediCARD with Apple Pay, the actual card numbers are not stored on the device, nor on Apple servers. Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted and securely stored in the Secure Element on the device. Each transaction is authorised with a one-time unique dynamic security code.
In stores, Apple Pay works with iPhone SE, iPhone 6 and later models.
