Oppo Watch 5 Spotted Ahead Of Launch With Slim Design And Budget Price
Oppo’s upcoming Watch 5 smartwatch has made an unexpected public appearance ahead of its official launch, revealing a sleek, lightweight design and a return to the company’s traditional square watch face.
The unreleased wearable was reportedly spotted on the wrist of I-DLE member Song Yuqi during a recent concert, with images quickly circulating online and offering an early glimpse of the device.
The Watch 5 features a square display surrounded by ultra-thin bezels, an aluminium alloy frame and a rotating crown positioned on the upper-right side.
According to industry leaks and comments from Oppo ecosystem product director Qiao Jiadong, the smartwatch will focus heavily on a slim and lightweight design.
The device is tipped to measure approximately 9.2mm thick and weigh less than 27 grams, making it considerably lighter than many conventional smartwatches.
Its aerospace-grade aluminium alloy construction is expected to provide durability without adding unnecessary weight, while the narrow bezels maximise available screen space.
Oppo is also reportedly prioritising battery life, display brightness and health monitoring capabilities.
Expected features include heart rate tracking, blood oxygen monitoring, sleep analysis and fitness activity tracking. A dedicated fat-burning monitoring function could also be introduced to appeal to health-conscious users.
One of the biggest attractions could be its price.
The Watch 5 is expected to cost around 1,000 yuan, equivalent to approximately A$215, positioning it as a more affordable alternative to Oppo’s premium smartwatch models.
For comparison, the Oppo Watch 4 Pro launched in 2023 at 2,299 yuan, or approximately A$494, featuring a stainless-steel case and Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 chipset.

Pre-orders for the Watch 5 have already opened through Oppo’s official Chinese sales channels, suggesting its formal unveiling is approaching.
The smartwatch is expected to launch alongside the Oppo Reno 17 smartphone series and Oppo Pad Air 6 tablet during a November 2026 event.
Its square design also signals a shift away from the rounded styling adopted by Oppo’s more recent Watch S models.
Meanwhile, Indonesian certification records listing the device under model number OVWE266 suggest Oppo may be preparing for an international release.
Australian pricing and availability have yet to be announced.
