Dick Smith Announces Marketing & Buying Restructure

Dick Smith has announced a restructure of their marketing operations.

Annette Karantoni formely from Woolworths has been appointed head of buying and marketing, replacing Brent Allan.

Karantoni has been promoted from senior business manager marketing at Woolworths Supermarkets. She has been with Dick Smith’s parent company Woolworths Limited for over 12 years in various advertising, marketing and buying roles.

“Annette has a wealth of experience in branding and packaging and worked in buying in fresh foods where she was responsible for a number of categories,” a spokesperson from Woolworths told AdNews.

“In the Supermarket division over the last three years Annette has worked in operations teams, buying and on innovative marketing strategies and we¬† think she will do very well in Dick Smith in an exciting stage in the business.”

Allan left Dick Smith to become general manager marketing at Fantastic Furniture following a shake-up at the cut-price furniture retailer’s marketing department, involving two senior level departures.
