Frank Di Bartolo published the following on the Pacific Hi FI Facebook page “It is with regret that we advise that Joe lost his battle with Tongue Cancer on the morning of Thursday 1st August 2013 at 9:40am at Liverpool Hospital.”

His battle with this horrible disease was painful but short having only been diagnosed with Tongue Cancer in April this year.

Soon after the diagnosis surgeons removed 85% of his tongue and Joe commenced Radio Therapy treatment.

Joe’s involvement in the Hi FI and Home Theatre industry was both long and proud stretching out over 27 years.

Over the years Joe has worked with many of the best within this great industry and earned a reputation for honesty, integrity, generosity and kindness.
Jim Patterson of Kordz  said ” He was a true gentleman and didn’t deserve this shit”.  He went on to say  ” a popular saying in Ireland is,  “God’s garden must be beautiful as he always picks the best” and it certainly was in this case.”

Joe’s impact on his fellow staff and former employees is probably best summed up by Rebecca Mangion who wrote “Joe with tears pouring out I want to thank u for teaching me so much! Not just about Hi Fi lol but the true meaning of family..”
