Nothing has offered the first official look at its upcoming Phone (4a), revealing a refreshed rear design and a new-look Glyph lighting system ahead of its global launch on March 5 – just one day after Apple’s expected iPhone event.

In images shared to social media, the mid-range handset appears in a white colourway with the brand’s signature semi-transparent back.

While the overall aesthetic remains distinctly Nothing, there are several notable tweaks compared to the Phone (3a).

The horizontal, pill-shaped triple-camera module remains, but it now sits closer to the top of the device and drops the rounded base seen previously. To the right of the camera island is the headline change: a redesigned Glyph Bar.

Replacing the curved LED strips of earlier models, the Glyph Bar features nine individually addressable mini LEDs.

Nothing says the new lights are 40% brighter than those on previous A-series devices, while delivering a more neutral, less distracting glow.

As with earlier Glyph interfaces, the lighting system is expected to handle notifications, timers and other visual alerts without requiring users to check the display.

The lower rear panel has also been cleaned up for a more streamlined look. Button placement appears to have shifted higher on the frame for improved reachability, with reports suggesting a dedicated shortcut key for Nothing’s AI features alongside the standard power and volume controls.

Though Nothing is yet to confirm full specs, pricing or availability, recent leaks point to a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, a 5,400mAh battery with 50W wired charging and a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. A triple-camera system headlined by a 50MP main sensor is also rumoured.
