Nothing To Crash Apple’s Party With Cheeky Phone Announcement
In true Nothing fashion, the company has locked in March 5 for the launch of the Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro – just one day after Apple’s big reveal which is likely to see the launch of the iPhone 17e.
The timing appears to be anything but accidental.
Nothing CEO Carl Pei took to X to share a playful edit of Apple’s typically minimalist event invite, with pink graffiti defacing Apple’s logo.
Shortly after, Nothing’s official channels confirmed the Phone (4a) series will be unveiled globally, with the launch event kicking off at 10:30am GMT from London (9:30pm AEDT) and livestreamed on the company’s website.

While full specs remain under wraps, leaks and early benchmarks have filled in some of the blanks. The standard Phone (4a) is tipped to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, with both models expected to offer configurations starting at 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. UFS 3.1 storage and modest battery bumps over the Phone (3a) series are also rumoured.
Colourways may help differentiate the two devices. The regular (4a) is expected in black and white, while the Pro variant could swap white for a silver finish. Teasers have also hinted at bolder colours in the mix.

Pei has suggested the (4a) line will edge closer to flagship territory, with improvements to materials, display and camera performance. Rather than chasing raw specs, he says the focus is on refining design and overall user experience.
Nothing has also confirmed it will unveil the Nothing Headphone (a), an affordable follow-up to last year’s Headphone (1).
With Apple and Nothing going back-to-back, early March is shaping up to be a big week in the consumer tech space.
