Samsung is extending its One UI software beyond smartphones and tablets, bringing the familiar interface to its smart appliances as brands at IFA 2025 ramp up focus on connectivity and security across devices ranging from vacuum cleaners to ovens.

The company says the move will create a unified and intuitive experience across its ecosystem, spanning smartphones, TVs, and home appliances. Starting in 2024, select appliances will also receive software updates for up to seven years after launch.

“By bringing One UI to smart appliances, we are transforming the way people interact with technology in their homes,” said Jeong Seung Moon, EVP and Head of the R&D Team for Samsung’s Digital Appliances Business. “This consistency ensures that the experience feels natural and familiar across all our devices.”

The expansion applies consistent design and functionality across product categories, with services such as Bixby, Gallery, and Samsung TV Plus available across different screens for seamless interaction and media use.

Samsung is also strengthening device integration through SmartThings, which links household devices into a single ecosystem. Users can access practical services including Family Care, Pet Care, and Home Care — along with personalized updates such as weather forecasts, family schedules, tailored recipes, and even notifications on how much time is left in the washing machine cycle.

With this move, Samsung aims to blur the lines between mobile, entertainment, and household technology, giving consumers a more connected and intelligent home experience.
