Huawei Launch Australian Marketing Offensive For P9
Many Australians are still struggling to pronounce their name correctly but Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei are investing millions into a new marketing campaign for their latest smartphone, the P9.
The campaign will see the flagship device have a presence across TV, cinema, print, digital and social media channels.
The crown of this new campaign rests with the company’s first major TV advertisement, which stars Scarlet Johansson and Henry Cavill.
“It is a really exciting time here at Huawei, not only launching our single biggest marketing campaign ever in Australia, but also to see Huawei on TV for the first time in our 12 year Australian history,” said Marc Di Giacomo, Head of Consumer Marketing at Huawei Australia.
The campaign will also see Huawei continue to conduct their direct sale efforts at retail centres and several joint marketing programs with their retail and channel partners.
A pop-up outlet offering in-store activation for the P9 has already been opened in Westfield Chatswood, with five more locations planned for the coming weeks.
One of these partnerships will even see the company team up with the Canberra Raiders and give away a P9 for each try they score over the next eight weeks.
As reported by ChannelNews earlier this week, the company is also offering incentives for staff to buy into the brand.
Employees will be able to buy the P9 at a 90% discount.
According to Huawei, ”The P9 sales numbers from Huawei’s staff incentive will be separately provided to IDC and other market analysts.”
Huawei’s P9 comes in titanium grey and will be available in Australia through Optus, Telstra, Vodafone, Virgin, JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Leica Boutique and Digi Direct and its RRP is $799.
