Google Clip Goes Live, No Word On Aussie Release Date

The Google Clip, the company’s AI camera is now available for purchase online however no word on when it will be available on Aussie shores.

It was revealed last October during the Pixel 2 launch and is selling for US$249.

The Google Clip has been built to take photos or videos, Google explains: “We’ve put machine learning capabilities directly into Clips so when you turn it on, the camera looks for good moments to capture. Clips looks for stable, clear shots of people you know. You can help the camera learn who is important to you so when grandma comes in town, you’ll capture the grand entrance.”

The device is able to clip onto various objects and be set down on surfaces, it also has the capability to be used as a normal camera.

Engadget notes although it is available now, its shipping estimates show an arrival date from February 25 to March 5, up to a five week wait.

Looking back at the release of Google products in the US compared to Australia, for the Google Home, it was launched in November 2016 and made available in Australia in May of the following year. However, the Pixel 2 was released in the USA on October 19 and came down under on October 31.

So looking at the information above there is no easy way to know when it will be available but probably sooner rather than later.

Keep your eyes peeled.
