HP’s new dynamic, intuitive touchscreen technology makes it easier than ever for consumers to conveniently display, edit and print photos as well as copy, scan and print documents. The new Photosmart printers have a sleek new piano black design, a new TouchSmart printing interface, and feature up to 30 per cent reduced energy consumption compared to previous models. The expanded Photosmart portfolio also features one-touch wireless set-up and wireless printing from $179 RRP, as well as the ability to access and print photos directly from Snapfish albums online without a PC. “HP introduced its first touch product over 25 years ago. Since then, our R&D teams have drawn from extensive customer insights, as well as leading-edge touchscreen technology, to develop a new TouchSmart user interface that is familiar and natural to use, and will make everyday printing easier and more enjoyable,” said Richard Bailey, Vice President Imaging & Printing, HP South Pacific. “Introducing web connectivity offers even greater ease of use and convenience to the HP Photosmart range. Together with ‘Touch’ technology, these web-connected printers allow users to interact with their technology in a more efficient and intuitive way.” HP designed the new Photosmart line-up to better meet growing consumer demand for touch technology in their devices. Market research firm Gartner projects that the capacitive touchscreen and touch-button controller segment will continue to explode, hitting 1.3 billion units by 2012, a 44 per cent compounded annual growth rate. |
