Siemens Gigaset Teams Up With Cellnet

Siemens Gigaset is a global market leader in the manufacturing of cordless telephones and Voice over IP (VoIP) handsets.

Dean Verberne, CEO of Siemens Gigaset in A/NZ, said Cellnet’s strong distribution reach was a key driver behind the deal. “Cellnet is a value-added reseller with a sales presence in each state in Australia and New Zealand, which was important to us. They’ll provide us with deeper penetration into our priority markets of retail, B2B and ISPs.

“Our hybrid VoIP/fixed line phones are getting strong traction in the retail market and we’re looking to capitalise on this further with Cellnet,” he said.

Under the agreement, Cellnet will have access to the full range of Siemens Gigaset cordless voice and VoIP products.

Cellnet CEO, Stuart Smith, said: “Siemens Gigaset’s quality products align perfectly across our offering to both our retail and IT reseller customer base in both Australia and New Zealand. The partnership provides us with an opportunity to embark on distributing VoIP technology, which is becoming the way of the future.”

Siemens Gigaset’s products are currently available in Harvey Norman, Myer, Telstra and JB Hi-Fi, with the new partnership set to extend this presence.

“We’ve been happy with our growth so far and with Cellnet on board, we’re confident of attracting more leading retailers,” Verberne added.
