EXCLUSIVE: Top Hills Executive Quits To Join Panasonic
Also exiting Hills Industries is Steve Cope, Chief Executive Officer of their Electronics and Communications Group.
Cope who has witnessed falling sales in the Hills consumer business joined the Adelaide based Hills from Clipsal.
Craig who will head Panasonic Australia’s Business Systems Group following the dumping of Mark Deere-Jones earlier this year is set to be given the task of securing the rights for Panasonic to distribute various products that are compatible with the current range of Pro AV products currently being sold by the Japanese Company.
It is not known whether Panasonic will go after the rights to sell Crestron in Australia.
Steve Rust the Managing Director of Panasonic Australia said “Stuart is an excellent fit for Panasonic, he has the experience and the relationships to grow our Business Systems Group. He will be given the autonomy to expand this business and that could mean that Panasonic becomes a distributor of products that fit with our current range of products that are being sold in Australia”.
Craig said that he is looking forward to working with Panasonic.
The exit of senior management at Hills follows the appointment of former Telstra executive Ted Pretty who in recent months has moved to restructure the Adelaide based Company.
Between September of 2012 Hills Shares have risen to $1.11 from a low of $0.71.
