CES 2022: Samsung And LG Revving Up To Unveil New Gear
We’re less than a month out from CES 2022 in Las Vegas, where ChannelNews will be reporting from directly, and the buzz around the new technology from consumer electronics giants Samsung and LG is already fever pitch, with both set to debut a rush of exciting new products.
The news from both is set to be intensified by the fact less than half the regular number of companies showcasing products will be on the floor due to pandemic issues.
As we’ve reported, Samsung should show off new quantum dot OLED (QD-OLED) displays and OLED technology, set to deliver more vivid colour, extreme contrast and better energy efficiency.
Samsung currently leads the global TV market, with more than 30 per cent sales. They started mass production of QD-OLED displays last month, in a move away from LCD panels.

On the mobile front, Samsung are believed to be using CES 2022 to launch the Galaxy S21 FE, a “tribute to Galaxy fans”, and the most affordable unit in their premium S20 line.
As reported, LG also have a bunch of great new products in their Lifestyle TV lineup, with the canvas-looking Objet TV and movable StanbyMe, which they suggest are the “perfect solutions for today’s multifunctional homes where working, learning, entertaining and relaxing are all part of the daily mix.”
The Objet comes with interchangeable fabric cover to add an extra art-like dimension, while the StanbyMe has a wireless screen that can be swiveled and rotated on its moveable stand.
LG are also said to be launching a 97″ OLED TV, trumping even their own 88″ models.
ChannelNews will of course give you all the news on these and other developments as soon as they come to hand.
