Apple Music 5.0 Beta Hits Android with iOS 26 Features, But No Liquid Glass
Apple has rolled out the beta version of Apple Music 5.0 for Android, bringing several long-awaited features from iOS 26 to its Android counterpart, but not the full redesign.
While the new version introduces updated pill-shaped playback controls and music pinning features, it notably lacks the ‘Liquid Glass’ visual overhaul found on Apple devices.
The redesigned interface seen in iOS 26 remains exclusive to iPhone and iPad users for now.
Still, Android users gain some significant upgrades.
Most notably, Apple Music 5.0 for Android now supports AI-powered lyrics translation and pronunciation guides, helping users understand and sing along with foreign-language tracks.
On iOS, this is powered by Apple Intelligence though on Android, it likely relies on Google’s AI.

Users can now pin songs, albums, playlists, or artists to the top of their Library for easy access.
Pins can be set to download automatically and sync across devices, though users may need to toggle pins manually to see changes reflected across platforms.
Design tweaks include the updated control buttons for play, shuffle, and repeat, giving the app a more modern look.
The update also brings Replay stats directly into the app, offering monthly and annual listening insights without requiring a browser.
Missing from this release, however, is AutoMix – Apple’s DJ-style crossfade feature introduced on iOS. There’s no word on whether it’s coming to Android in future versions.
Apple Music 5.0 beta for Android is available now via Google Play for users enrolled in the beta program.
