YouTube Campus Shooter Dead, Several Injured
A woman is dead and several people injured after a female shooter opened fire at YouTube’s Campus in the USA.
At this stage it’s not known whether the shooter was a former employee or a deranged user of the Google streaming serice.
What we do know is that the shooter was female and is now dead after turning her gun on herself, she was described as a white, adult female.
She was reportedly wearing a dark top and head scarf when she entered YouTube HQ.
San Bruno Police Chief Ed Barberini said it appeared the shooter acted alone — and described it as a “pretty hectic scenario.”
The four gunshot victims were taken to nearby hospitals.
The shooting happened around 1:30 p.m. local time and caused panic among workers and a massive police response.
YouTube product manager Todd Sherman said he was sitting in a meeting when he heard the commotion.
“We heard people running because it was rumbling the floor,” he tweeted. “First thought was earthquake.”
As Sherman was trying to escape, he “looked down and saw blood drips on the floor and stairs.”
“Peaked around for threats and then we headed downstairs and out the front,” he said.
Photos and video posted on social media showed YouTube employees walking out of the company’s headquarters with their arms raised. SWAT teams could be seen — and some employees claimed to have spotted a police negotiator.
Several ambulances were on the scene and cops were advising people to stay away.
At least one witness told KRON4 that they heard 20 shots fired before police responded.
