Samsung Pulls The Plug On Updates For Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge

Samsung has pulled the plug on support for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.

Until recently, the devices had been updated with the latest patches on a month-by-month basis, now owners of the 2015 handsets are faced to having to update to the all-new and highly rated Galaxy S9.

The news was announced on the Samsung Mobile website.

Originally, the S6 Edge+ and S6 Active devices had also been removed from the list, but they’ve since returned to the monthly update schedule.

As AndroidPolice points out, this move makes sense given the S6 Edge+ and S6 Active were released a few months after the originals.

Earlier this year Apple was exposed for trying to nobble the speed of older iPhones in what many observers said was a blatant attempt to get people to upgrade to the new iPhone 8.

Samsung has simply stopped supplying support and told owners via their own website.
