Yamaha has launched its new flagship TRUEX90A soundbar in Australia, introducing a high-spec home theatre system that extends well beyond the capabilities of a typical soundbar.

Building on its 20-year legacy in beam speakers, dating back to the pioneering YSP-1 in 2004, Yamaha’s TRUEX90A brings high-end AV receiver-grade performance into a streamlined all-in-one system, purpose-built for spatial audio formats like Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and – for the first time in a soundbar – AURO-3D.

At the heart of the TRUEX90A is a 12-beam speaker array (six per side) integrated on the top panel, delivering powerful upward-firing audio designed to bounce off ceilings for realistic height effects.

These are powered by Yamaha’s in-house YDA-141 amplifiers and work alongside newly engineered oval “eye-shaped” front drivers to balance performance and compact form.

The system includes a compact but potent subwoofer featuring Yamaha’s patented Symmetrical Flare Port, which reduces air turbulence and distortion for deeper, cleaner bass.

Yamaha’s AI-driven SURROUND:AI – borrowed from its high-end AVENTAGE receivers – also makes its soundbar debut here, optimising the sound field in real time depending on what’s on screen.

Wireless True X surround speakers round out the package, offering up to 12 hours of battery life, IP67 water and dust resistance, and the ability to operate as standalone Bluetooth speakers at the press of a button.

 

Crafted with premium materials, the TRUEX90A is designed to deliver high-fidelity audio with the same attention to mechanical vibration control and acoustic detailing seen in Yamaha’s Hi-Fi products.

Connectivity includes HDMI eARC, optical, Bluetooth, AirPlay2 and Yamaha’s MusicCast system for multi-room audio. Streaming support includes Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, and internet radio.

Available in Australia as a complete home theatre solution – soundbar, wireless subwoofer, and two WS-X3A portable rear speakers – the TRUEX90A is Yamaha’s most comprehensive soundbar offering to date.
