Westinghouse Small Appliances has introduced a new cordless vacuum cleaner aimed at buyers who want strong performance without paying premium prices. Currently available at JB Hi-Fi, the WHVCSV05SB is priced at a reasonable $349.99 and brings a mix of power, automation and convenience features that are often associated with more expensive models.

At the core of the device is a 350W brushless DC motor designed to deliver steady suction of up to 32kPa while keeping noise levels below 78 decibels. The motor is built for more precise control, which allows smoother switching between power settings and quicker adjustments when using the automatic mode. This design also contributes to improved durability compared with more traditional motor setups.

The vacuum is equipped with a motorised brush head that can move in multiple directions, making it easier to manoeuvre around furniture and tight spaces. Integrated LED lighting helps reveal dust in darker areas such as under couches or along skirting boards. Filtration is handled through a multi-cyclone system combined with a washable HEPA filter, aimed at trapping fine particles and allergens to improve indoor air quality.

Users can choose between three suction levels via a digital touchscreen or rely on an automatic setting that adjusts power based on detected debris. The display also shows battery levels and alerts, including when the dust bin is full or if the brush becomes tangled.
