TCL has launched four new gaming monitors in Australia, led by the flagship 32-inch 32R84 QD-Mini LED model priced at A$1,599.

The range also includes the A$799 32G64, A$699 27G64 and A$499 25G54, with all four monitors available now.

TCL is positioning the 32R84 as its most advanced gaming monitor to date, combining a 32-inch 4K panel with QD-Mini LED backlighting, 1,400 local dimming zones and peak brightness of 1,400 nits.

The monitor supports a 165Hz refresh rate and a claimed 1ms response time, targeting both competitive gaming and visually demanding single-player titles.

Quantum dot technology provides coverage of 95% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, while the Mini LED backlight is designed to improve contrast and reduce blooming around bright objects displayed against darker backgrounds.

The 32R84 also includes USB-C connectivity with up to 65W power delivery, allowing users to connect and charge a compatible laptop through a single cable.

“The 32R84 is proof that TCL’s TV-grade display technology doesn’t stop at the living room,” TCL Electronics Australia and New Zealand managing director Hawke Zhang said.

“We’ve taken everything we’ve learned building QD-Mini LED into our television range and applied it to a category purpose-built for gamers, and this is just the start of our push into premium gaming displays.”

Below the flagship model, the 32G64 and 27G64 bring QD-Mini LED technology to 32-inch and 27-inch QHD displays respectively.

The entry-level 25G54 instead uses conventional Mini LED backlighting alongside a 25-inch Full HD panel, providing a lower-cost option for gamers looking to upgrade from a standard LCD monitor.

The Australian launch follows TCL’s expansion into the monitor category, where it is increasingly applying display technologies developed for its television business to gaming and desktop products.
