Playing Tough: Panasonic Launches Six New Toughbooks

Right from the get-go, Panasonic’s Group Manager made it clear the new Toughbooks aren’t just cosmetically enhanced notebooks. Instead they’re designed from the ground up to withstand tough conditions, day in and day out.

“It’s fantastic that so many businesses are recognising the significant benefits in deploying tough solutions – however we’re also starting to see a number of products coming onto the market with cosmetic tough attributes, that would struggle to survive the daily rigours of the work environment,” said Mark Wallis, Panasonic’s Group Manager.

Although there’s many options available for the aspiring Toughbook owner, Wallis hoped buyers would do there research before making a purchase, so they can be sure the Toughbook of their choice will meet their daily needs.

“In today’s corporate climate, it’s all about the bottom line – this isn’t just about the cost of replacing a broken laptop. Australian businesses simply cannot afford to invest in a mobile device that is vulnerable to everyday bumps, knocks and spills that put  productivity, company data, sales and customer satisfaction at risk,” he added.

He referred to studies that indicate the number one source of notebook damage was clumsiness, with drops, spills and bumps costing companies money for replacement models, and worse yet, the loss of valuable work information.

“It’s clear that clumsiness can have huge ramifications for businesses, so it is crucial for organisations to consider a reliable, durable device that does not compromise on performance – rather than a notebook where durability is only skin deep,” said Mr Wallis.

The Toughbooks come in two classes, one for professionals and the other has been coined ‘fully-rugged models.’ They’re available today from Panasonic Toughbook distributers.

· Toughbook CF-19 Mk5: Used by emergency services and field utilities, RRP$5,499
