 iiNet announced the investment and partnership with the group’s founder, Glen Powys.
Tech2 Group provides technology services and solutions to residential and business customers, including communications build services, remote and on-site technical support and installation. It employs 650 staff and contractors.
Brands include tech2home on site tech support, tech2business and gizmo which offers over the phone solutions.
Tech2 Group also provides telecoms infrastructure build, connection and installation services for the NBN and other telco providers, which is handy, considering iiNet already has built a large NBN customer base, of over 40,000.
The investment provides iiNet with a new sales channel, expands ability to provide IT support and provides a ready-built home installation capability, particularly in the area of NBN services.
iiNet Chief David Buckingham said “the partnership will allow us to both extend our brand and provide a more comprehensive service to our customers, particularly through the delivery of NBN.”
Glen Powys, Managing Director of Tech2 Group said the deal is opportunity for the business to pursue growth plans.

He also spoke of added benefits to Tech2’s customers as we draw on iiNet’s experience, scale and support.
The telco was advised by Azure Capital Limited with legal advice being provided by K&L Gates.
iiNet shares rose over 1% today to $7.79.
