SteelSeries Boosts Battery Life by 40% With New Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2 Headset
SteelSeries has unveiled the second generation of its Arctis Nova 7 wireless gaming headset, with a huge 40% boost in batter life over the previous model.
The Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2 now delivers up to 54 hours of continuous use on a single charge, making it one of the longest-lasting wireless gaming headsets in its class.
When it finally does run low, a 15-minute USB-C quick charge provides around six hours of playtime, ideal for marathon gaming sessions.
Beyond the endurance upgrade, the Gen 2 introduces real-time audio control via the SteelSeries app, which can automatically adjust EQ settings for over 200 supported games.
Players can fine-tune or rely on presets that amplify critical in-game sounds like footsteps or reloads for a competitive edge.

Dual wireless connectivity also returns, allowing users to mix 2.4GHz and Bluetooth audio simultaneously, ideal for taking calls or streaming music without interrupting gameplay. Battery life remains strong even in this hybrid mode, with up to 38 hours of use.
Under the hood, the Nova 7 Gen 2 features 40mm neodymium magnetic drivers delivering spatial audio and a retractable ClearCast Gen 2 microphone with bidirectional noise cancellation.
Comfort remains a focus too, with SteelSeries’ signature ComfortMAX adjustable headband ensuring long-wear usability.
While it doesn’t include active noise cancellation or the hot-swappable batteries found in higher-end Nova models, the Nova 7 Gen 2 remains a well-rounded mix of performance and value.
Available in black, white and a new magenta colourway, the headset comes in platform-specific variants: Nova 7 Gen 2 for PC, 7P Gen 2 for PlayStation, and 7X Gen 2 for Xbox.
