Sonus Faber Unveils New Duetto Wireless Speakers

We’ve previously reported on the Sonus Faber Duetto speakers, which were tipped to be available starting this month. Now, we can confirm they are available for purchase, with Australian pricing also available.

The speakers have the company’s trademark Lute-shaped wooden cabinets, however the custom designed heatsinks on the back prove these aren’t ordinary bookshelf speakers.

Each speaker is a two way design that features a 0.7-inch silk dome tweeter and a 5.25-inch paper pulp mid-bass driver. The driver sits inside Sonus Faber’s new ‘Organic Basket,’ designed to reduce vibrations and ease airflow.

They are each powered by a pair of amplifiers, a 100W Class A/B amp (tweeter), and a 205W Class D amp (mid-bass unit).

There’s a touch sensitive interface on the top made from leather, called Senso, which can be used to control set up, volume, and switch between inputs and connections.

Along with these, are HDMI and optical digital inputs, as well as a built in moving magnet phono input for a turntable, which is switchable with line-level), and a subwoofer output.

Under the hood, is a range of streaming offers, including AirPlay, Chromecast, Tidal and Spotify. There is Bluetooth, and the speakers also Roon Ready.

In order to minimise latency and give a stable wireless connection, Duetto utilises Ultra-Wide Band technology (UWB).

The Sonus Faber Duetto speakers are available for shipping now, and retail for $$6,995.00 AUD per pair.

Chief of Design at Sonus Faber, Livio Cucuzza said “Duetto is a true Sonus Faber stereo system, blending 40 years of premium speaker design, Italian style and materials with modern technology and streaming features.”
