Shark Launches New PowerDetect ELITE Cordless Vacuum In Australia
Shark has expanded its Australian floorcare range with the launch of the PowerDetect ELITE Cordless Auto-Empty System, a new flagship cordless vacuum combining up to 450W of suction power with an automatic emptying dock.
The model is listed by SharkNinja Australia as a new release at $1,199.99 and is also available through The Good Guys for $1,199.
Shark is positioning the new vacuum at the top of its cordless range, with PowerDetect technology designed to automatically respond to different cleaning conditions.
Four detection functions monitor dirt levels, floor type, cleaning direction and edges, adjusting performance as the vacuum moves around the home.
Its DuoClean Detect floorhead is designed to collect dirt, dust, hair and larger debris while moving both forwards and backwards. Shark says this helps address the tendency of some cordless vacuums to push debris away during a reverse stroke.
The vacuum is designed for use across carpet and hard flooring, as well as along walls and edges.
A MultiFLEX wand allows the vacuum to bend for cleaning underneath low furniture and also makes the unit easier to store when not in use.
One of the major additions is the extra-large 3L Auto-Empty Dock.

The base automatically removes collected debris from the vacuum after cleaning while also recharging the unit, reducing the need for users to manually empty the onboard dust container after every session.
Shark has also included two batteries with the system, which the company says provides its longest cordless cleaning time to date. An exact combined runtime is not specified on SharkNinja Australia’s current product listing.
The vacuum itself weighs 3.75kg without the dock, while the complete system weighs 9.05kg. It uses washable pre-motor filters alongside a post-motor HEPA filter and offers Detect, Eco and Boost settings.
The PowerDetect ELITE is available in Travertine, Café Noir and Eclipse finishes through SharkNinja Australia, while The Good Guys currently lists the Travertine version as a new product.
The launch gives Shark another premium option in Australia’s increasingly competitive cordless vacuum market, where manufacturers are adding more automation traditionally associated with robot vacuums.
At $1,199.99, the PowerDetect ELITE sits well above Shark’s $799.99 standard PowerDetect ELITE Cordless model, with the extra cost primarily adding the auto-empty dock and dual-battery setup.
