Sennheiser Open Flagship Sydney Store

Sennheiser has opened their first Australian flagship store in the prestigious original Commonwealth Bank of Australia Sydney building, where they debuted the AMBEO soundbar, launching mid-2019.

The new flagship store offers visitors the opportunity to test and discover Sennheiser’s wide portfolio of “class-leading products”, said Peter Ogley, COO of Sennheiser Consumer Products, who came from the head office in Berlin for the opening.

The store will showcase products for the everyday consumer and specific equipment for gaming, business solutions, and professional audio products.

In his speech, Ogley stated that he was “proud to be in this space” and its “heritage reflects well” with Sennheiser’s 70-year history.

Afterwards, when asked, Ogley admitted that they “had to pick Sydney” as it is the “most iconic” Australian city, although “Melbourne was hot on its heels”.

The Sydney store is the third of its kind. Berlin houses the first “test” flagship store and last year Sennheiser opened their second in San Francisco.

“It was our goal to create an inviting and truly inspiring environment for our customers here in Australia,” said Ogley, in a separate statement.

“This space will hopefully become a destination for unique listening experiences, special events and a chance to explore our range of innovative audio products.”

The new store features a unique Experience Room, expertly fitted to optimise sound, which offers visitors the chance to experience premium products in private listening sessions that require advance booking.

The Experience Room houses Sennheiser’s entry to the soundbar market: the long-awaited Sennheiser AMBEO Soundbar, which will be available in 2019, the only one currently in Australia.

The room also houses the Sennheiser HE1, a super high-end headphone system with an opulent marble base valued at AU$80,000, which Ogley stated is the “best-sounding headphone ever made” and represents the “future of audio”.

In statement Marek Jaworski, Director of Sales – Retail, for Sennheiser Australia and New Zealand, said: “Sennheiser is a brand that Australians have come to love in the audio world, so we are very proud to finally expand into our own retail space in Sydney.”

“It’s brilliant to offer our customers a way to explore our range and to interact with and listen to products in store so they can take their sound experience to a whole new level.”
