Samsung Galaxy A8 Available Down Under

The Samsung Galaxy A8 and is now available to buy in Australia for $649.

Samsung did release a bigger model, the A8+ however the company has only released the regular sized model for Australian consumers.

The new device has a 5.6-inch display, the same curved infinity display as the S9 series. The Infinity Display has a 18.5:9 ratio.

On the specifications side, the A8 comes with Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7885 processor. The A8 has 4GB of RAM, 32GB of on-board storage and MicroSD storage of up to 400GB.

Similar to the S9 this smartphone focuses on photography. The phone is equipped with a dual front facing camera, with megapixels of 16 and 8 respectively. The rear camera is 16MP with an aperture of f/1.7.

The dual front facing camera has Live Focus, blurring the background of the subject.

The phone has a water resistance rating of IP68. The battery is 3,000mAH which can be charged via a USB-C type cable.

The Galaxy A8 is available on the Samsung website. Alternatively, the Galaxy A8 is available at JB Hi-Fi in both grey and black. The Good Guys is only selling the black model at the moment.
