Plantronics Posts 216% Aussie Growth

Plantronics has post a whopping 216% increase in local year-to-date growth – a feat claimed to cement its position as Australia’s number one gaming headset manufacturer.

The result is said to be twice that of Australia’s gaming industry – reportedly posting 114% year-to-date growth.

Plantronics asserts it’s not only overtaken the broader industry – driving a 102% value increase and 108% unit growth – but its but RIG gaming headsets remain market leaders.

RIG is among Plantronics’ best-selling ranges, with the rise of Fornite and PUBG driving demand for high-tech headsets.

“With the success of Battle Royale games like Fortnite, PUBG and Realm Royale, gamers have realised that there’s a need for high-quality headsets that could end up being the difference between a win or loss,” affirms Plantronics Director of Gaming APAC, Peter Petrides.

Following its stellar results, Plantronics has announced its new RIG 500 PRO gaming headsets will land in Australia mid-August.

Designed to reduce distortion, the new RIG 500 PRO series aims to combine high-fidelity audio with a lightweight body.

The devices are claimed to be the first RIG gaming headsets with an exoskeleton earcup and isolated inner acoustic chamber.

Console gamers can now adjust headset volumes directly from their controller, courtesy of a RIG Game Audio Dial. PC models feature an inline volume slider.

“Fans of the RIG brand should expect an impressive number of firsts, including the first VR-focused headsets, Dolby Atmos® activation and now, the RIG Game Audio Dial for Xbox One and PS4 wireless controllers,” assets Petrides.
