Maybe it’s a good thing that the Google Pixel Foldhas not been launched in Australia, as it’s showing serious signs of wear and tear across the crease within hours of use, according to multiple reports.
The above image is from a user to purported to have opened the phone three times within five hours. Within hours, the screen protector was peeling from within the fold and there were “what looks to be like scratches on the inside.”
Another user reported “very small dents and surface imperfections between the bezel and the screen protector, the gutter area” after a day’s use.
There also appears to be baked-in screen damage from the act of folding, as seen above.
“I saw a brief flash of a bright pink line once or twice, but hoped for the best, but then as I was sat browsing the web, this bright neon pink line appeared from edge to edge and has survived a software reset,” the unhappy customer reported.
Google is yet to comment on this major product fault. Much like Bard, Google’s “AI experiment”, it seems they rushed this out in an effort to compete in a newly popular category.
