OPPO Reno X Leak: New Wide-Screen Flagship With 16:9 Display
OPPO could be exploring a new smartphone form factor that prioritises screen width over the tall displays dominating the market, with flagship-level cameras and processing hardware potentially setting it apart.
In a different take on smartphone design, rumours are that OPPO is developing a wide-screen flagship smartphone that breaks from the common format of modern handsets.
According to reports, the engineering prototype features a 6.35-inch display with a 2560 × 1440 resolution and a traditional 16:9 aspect ratio.
The reported features would make for a viewing experience that is suited to more landscape-friendly uses, like video playback, gaming and watching other content, and would reduce the need to rotate the phone when viewing widescreen media.Â
The prototype is also rumoured to use an 8T LTPO panel, which is a technology associated with variable refresh rates and improved display power efficiency.
Biometric authentication is reportedly via ultrasonic fingerprint recognition, which is an advanced form of scanning that uses high-frequency sound waves to identify a fingerprint.Â
Previous leaks already suggest the handset could be powered by a flagship MediaTek Dimensity chipset, although the specific processor has not been confirmed.
The device is also rumoured to feature two 200-megapixel rear cameras, and potentially include a periscope telephoto camera for enhanced zoom capabilities.

OPPO’s new flagship is rumoured to feature a wide-screen format without being a foldable.
Despite its 6.35-inch diagonal measurement, the display is reportedly comparable in viewing area to the screens of conventional 6.8- to 7-inch smartphones, due to its wider proportions.
While the details are unconfirmed and remain speculation, reports raise the possibility that the name could be OPPO Reno X or Find X10 Pro.
With foldable smartphones recently launched, a wider, non-folding flagship could appeal to those looking for a landscape-oriented screen format but without buying a foldable.
There is no confirmed release, pricing or availability information and all specifications remain based on leaks. OPPO has not officially confirmed the device or its final specifications.
