LG 3D Cinema Smart TV owners can now download old favourites like The Lion King, Chicken Little and Nightmare Before Christmas from Walt Disney, PIXAR and Marvel studios.

There will be 15 3D titles on the Disney menu for LG Smart and 3D TVs initially including The Avengers and Toy Story 1 and 2 Cars 2, Chicken Little, Fright Night, Gnomeo & Juliet, John Carter, Mars Needs Moms, Meet the Robinsons, Nightmare Before Christmas, Pirates of The Caribbean 4, Tangled, The Avengers, The Lion King, Tron Legacy.

This is an important content development for LG as it looks to differentiate its high end 3D Cinema TV’s and smaller Smart TV’s in the ever competitive market.

Finding Nemo, Bolt and Brave are additional titles coming soon.

LG Smart TV owners can purchase the above titles available on DVD/Blu-ray (at $7.59 each).

“We’re delighted to be bringing The Walt Disney Studios quality family entertainment to LG’s CINEMA 3D Smart TV’s,” said Brad Reed, LG Senior Marketing Manager – Content and Services.

 “The availability of these titles including blockbuster 3D favourites is a great example of our commitment to providing customers with the best 3D content, and we will continue to expand the offering in the future.”

In celebration of the launch LG is offering consumers who purchase a new 2012 3D Cinema TV a $100 LG Apps credit that can be used to purchase the 3D Disney movies. 

The $100 credit and promotional offer which takes place between 13th September – 7th November will be available to customers to redeem online at au.lgappstv.com, when they sign up and create an LG AppsTV account.

Other current premium content providers available on LG Smart TVs include: Bigpond Movies, ABC iView, BigpondTV, Cnet, uctv.tm, AFL TV, NRL.TV, YouTube, Skype, CNBC, MLB.TV, Facebook, Accuweather.com, Google maps, Twitter, vTuner, Red Bull TV, SBS On-Demand and SMH.tv.
