Optus Adds GeForce Now To SubHub Platform

Optus has teamed with Nvidia to bring the GeForce Now gaming platform to its customers.

Under the twelve-month deal, the popular gaming service will be integrated into the Optus StubHub service, “underpinned by the superior performance of the Optus 5G network and enhanced by innovative Optus Living Network features,” according to the release.

Perth-based company Pentanet is the exclusive digital distributor of the Nvidia GeForce Now cloud gaming service in Australia, and saw shares leap 70 per cent after it announced the partnership with Optus.

Pentanet said it will work with Optus “towards a program that enables a superior experience for GeForce NOW users, with a specific focus on 5G and the GeForce NOW user management platform, CloudGG.”

Stephen Cornish, Pentanet Managing Director called the collaboration “a big step towards solidifying our position in the gaming market”.

Matt Williams, Optus Managing Director of Marketing & Revenue said, “Our mission is to break down the barriers to gaming and offer our customers the freedom to play anywhere and anytime.

“Cloud gaming is an ideal example for 5G in the home and on the go, given the need for high speed, low latency connectivity, and we are excited that we will be able to offer that to our customers very soon.”

The service will be available to Optus customers from the second half of 2023.
