Fujifilm has launched its brightest Z Series projector in Australia, targeting museums, event venues, corporate showrooms and commercial installations requiring large-scale 4K projection in well-lit spaces.

The new Fujifilm Projector ZUH12000 will be available locally from August 6, alongside three interchangeable lenses covering ultra-short-throw, short-throw and standard installations.

Fujifilm said the projector produces up to 12,000 lumens, double the brightness of the 6,000-lumen ZUH6000 released last year.

It uses a laser light source and a 0.8-inch DLP imaging chip to deliver a resolution of 3840 x 2400, with improved contrast intended to produce deeper blacks and more detailed images.

The ZUH12000 is also the first model in Fujifilm’s Z Series to support interchangeable lenses.

The headline option is the FP-ZL034 ultra-short-throw lens, which uses Fujifilm’s folded, rotatable lens mechanism to project images onto walls, floors and ceilings without repositioning the projector body.

It offers 360-degree lens rotation, vertical lens shift of up to 60% and horizontal shift of up to 30%.

Fujifilm claims the lens can produce images measuring up to 400 inches from a distance of just under three metres, while the projector body can remain concealed with only the lens exposed.

Two additional lenses will be available: the FP-ZL050 short-throw lens and FP-ZL125 standard lens.

The projector weighs approximately 18.1kg and measures 535mm wide, 396mm deep and 189mm high without a lens.

It also includes five Film Simulation modes drawn from Fujifilm’s camera business, including Provia, Velvia, Eterna, Classic Chrome and Classic Negative.

Fujifilm said demand for high-brightness projection was growing beyond controlled-light venues, particularly among businesses seeking immersive displays in showrooms, conference halls and commercial facilities.

Australian pricing for the projector and optional lenses has not been disclosed.
