Oppo’s Wide-Screen Foldable Tipped For Launch
Oppo is reportedly preparing a wide-format foldable smartphone that could launch in the first quarter of 2027, with early leaks pointing to a device designed to rival Apple’s long-rumoured foldable iPhone.
According to Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station, the device is already in development and is being tested with Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, expected to be built on a 2nm process.
The foldable is tipped to feature a 7.6-inch internal display and a 5.5-inch cover screen, giving it a wider form factor than many current book-style foldables. Oppo is reportedly evaluating panels from Samsung Display and BOE.
The leak also suggests Oppo will use its latest seamless hinge technology, aimed at further reducing the visible display crease.
The company has already drawn attention for the minimal crease on its Find N6 foldable.
While the final branding has not been confirmed, the device is expected to arrive as the Oppo Find N7, following on from the Find N6 (pictured) which launched in March.
If accurate, it could mark Oppo’s push into a broader-screen foldable category just as Apple and Samsung are also tipped to be exploring similar formats.
