Online Xmas Sales To Hit $100bn

SAN FRANCISCO – Online retailers in the US are expecting holiday season sales to hit US$100 billion for the first time ever.

In its annual report on the online sales, Adobe said mobile will dominate the big sales for the first time as the devices from which most transactions will be made.

Last year, online holiday sales reached $91.7 billion, topping Adobe’s initial estimates. This year other estimates are for a $140 million result.

Adobe also expects this year’s Cyber Monday, which in the USA comes after Thanksgiving (Thursday, November 23), to be the biggest online shopping day ever, generating around $6.6 billion in online sales, up 16.5 percent.
