OLED TV Price War As Samsung LG Slug It Out, Sony The Most Expensive
Samsung Electronics who are in a head on battle with LG Electronics in the premium OLED TV market is now selling a 65″ S95 4K OLED TV for $300 less than the G2 W (white)-OLED TV made by LG Electronics who control the OLED market.
Samsung’s 65-inch QD-OLED TV model, S95, is being sold for $3,995 at JB Hi Fi compared to LG Electronics’ 65-inch W-OLED TV model, G2, which has a retailer sticker of $4,295, both TVs are rated as being among the best TV’s available today.
LG is a major manufacturer of OLED TV’s supplying panels to the likes of Sony, Samsung, Hisense and several other brands including Sharp.
In recent weeks Samsung has moved to slash TV prices in Australia with the latest move appearing to be a global directive with the price of the same model TVs slammed at Best Buy in the US by similar amounts.
In contrast, Sony’s 65″ QA95K OLED TV listed on the Companies direct sell web site for $5,495.
Recently ChannelNews revealed that LG and Samsung TVs had been slashed by thousands of dollars since being launched in April 2022, the latest pricing appear to be new cuts as LG Electronics and JB Hi Fi go head-to-head.
The LG G2 65″ 4K OLED TV was originally priced at $6,359 back in May 2022.
Neither Company has explained the sudden price drop with retailers claiming that both LG and Samsung 65″ OLED TV offerings are “Bargains” with the price of TV’s set to rise next year.
