Focal Takes Wireless Hi-Fi To New Extreme With A$300K-Plus Diva Alta Utopia
After launching its A$110,000 Diva Mezza Utopia wireless loudspeakers last year, Focal has now pushed the concept even further with the new Diva Alta Utopia, its most powerful and expensive active speaker system yet.
The French audio brand’s latest flagship sits above both the original Diva Utopia and the Diva Mezza Utopia, turning the idea of a cable-free, all-in-one hi-fi system into a serious ultra-luxury proposition.
Developed with Naim, the Diva Alta Utopia packs 600 watts of Class A/B amplification into each speaker, up from 500 watts in the Mezza and 400 watts in the original Diva Utopia.
The system uses a four-way driver layout, including Focal’s new PRISM tweeter, an M-profile midrange driver and four 20.5cm woofers in each tower. It also retains the key selling point of the Diva range: no traditional amplifier rack and no speaker cables required.

Ultra Wideband wireless technology handles communication between the speakers, while a wired Hi-Res Link is also available for higher-resolution playback. The Naim Pulse platform supports high-resolution audio processing up to 32-bit/384kHz.
Connectivity includes AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Bluetooth 5.3, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, UPnP and HDMI eARC, allowing the speakers to be used with both music systems and TVs.
The design follows the Diva formula, with sculptural cabinets, floating side panels and a choice of felt or high-gloss lacquer finishes.
Pricing starts at US$199,999, or around A$307,000, for felt finishes, rising to US$210,000, or around A$322,000, for high-gloss versions.
That makes the Alta roughly three times the price of the Diva Mezza Utopia.
