Netflix has made the bold decision to scrap its 30-day free trial for new customers in the United Kingdom.

All information regarding free trials has been removed from the UK Netflix website.

First reported by MoneySavingExpert.com, the website contacted Netflix the streaming giant responded saying they are looking at alternative marketing promotions ‘to attract new members’.

How removing the 30-day free trial or unofficial ‘grace period’ in the streaming service will ‘attract new members’ in the UK is still to be seen, but Netflix believes it can see ‘give them a great experience’.

Fortunately for new Australian Netflix customers, the free trial option is still there though there is no word from the company whether they are planning to remove the feature worldwide.

According to figures from Ofcom’s Media Nations report, Netflix subscription numbers rose from 2.79 million to 11.47 million between Q1 2014 and Q1 2019.
