NBN Moves To Get Businesses On New Wholesale Plans
The corporation in charge of delivering Australia’s national broadband network have announced new wholesale bundles for businesses and a new “solution finder” to help customers determine what plan they should be on.
According to NBN Co, about two-thirds of “micro-businesses” with four employees or less operate from home offices, and more than 75 per cent of them are using residential internet plans rather than business plans designed for video conferencing and surveillance, remote data back-ups and cloud computing.
The online solution finder tool will point businesses towards the appropriate plan, which they will then have to discuss with their retail service providers.
NBN Co’s new business nbn bundles includes a basic bundle offering speeds of up to 50/20Mbps or 100/40Mbps download/upload speeds, the premium bundle S offering the same speeds with symmetrical committed speeds of 1/1Mbps, premium bundle M with symmetrical speeds of 20/20Mbps and a minimum 100/40Mbps, and premium bundle L with symmetrical committed speeds of 50/50Mbps and a minimum of 250/100Mbps peak information rate.
All the new wholesale discount bundles come with a minimum 12 hour enhanced service level agreement with 24/7 support between NBN Co and the retailer.
“For businesses of all sizes, it’s important that they select the appropriate business NBN solution to meet their needs, including the right speeds, committed bandwidth and service level assurance,” said NBN Co chief customer officer Paul Tyler.
