Major Fox Content Deal Brings 2500 Movies To BigPond
Major Fox Content Deal Brings 2500 Movies To BigPondThe agreement is set to increase the BigPond Movies catalogue to more than 2500 titles by year’s end, including releases as recent as Black Swan, as well as a back-catalogue that includes the Home Alone and X-Men series, according to Telstra’s IPTV director, Ben Kinealy.

The deal cements Telstra into the IPTV market after its recent deal to provide BigPond customers with most Foxtel channels and video-on-demand content on the T-Box. Similarly to the latest offering, the content is delivered over Internet connection though is unmetered.

Telstra owns around half of Foxtel, while Murdoch’s News Corporation also has a large stake in the pay-TV provider. TV content is being further consolidated amongst the three companies following these last few content deals.
