Musical Fidelity Unveils New Nu-Vista Vinyl S Phono Stage
Musical Fidelity has expanded its premium Nu-Vista range with the Vinyl S phono stage, a “price-appropriate” addition that brings nuvistor tube technology to a more compact chassis while maintaining the brand’s high-end positioning at A$12,000.
The Vinyl S draws directly from the flagship Nu-Vista Vinyl 2 (A$20,000), incorporating the same nuvistor tube phono technology at roughly half the price.
The unit features a redesigned front panel and smaller dimensions at 48 x 13 x 40cm, housed in an extruded aluminium construction that Musical Fidelity claims provides immunity against environmental vibrations.
Designed for compatibility with both moving magnet and moving coil cartridges, the phono stage offers extensive customisation options.
Users can select between standard RIAA, Decca and Colombia equalisation curves to accommodate different vinyl pressings and preferences.

Cartridge loading adjustments include capacitance, impedance and a two-step subsonic filter, controllable via front panel dials or the included slim remote.
Connectivity options ensure broad system compatibility with dual RCA and balanced XLR inputs, plus corresponding RCA and XLR outputs.
The unit employs Class A discrete transistor circuitry across three gain stages in a fully balanced configuration, which Musical Fidelity states delivers “minimal noise and distortion” for faithful music reproduction.
The company positions the Vinyl S as “a phono stage without limitation,” emphasising its sophisticated engineering and premium components designed to complement high-end audio systems.
Available now in Silver or Black finishes, the Nu-Vista Vinyl S joins the existing 600.2 and Nu-Vista 800.2 integrated amplifiers in Musical Fidelity’s premium lineup, targeting audiophiles seeking reference-grade vinyl playback capabilities.
