Motorola Launches Sleek, Affordable Moto G51 5G

Motorola has launched the latest offering in its best-selling smartphone line, the Moto G51 5G, which marks the tenth generation of this popular and affordable phone.

For $399, this phone offers a lot of bang for buck. 5G is the big selling point here (it’s in the name, after all) and this superior coverage makes this the perfect budget option for those who rely upon video calls and smooth online gaming in their day to day.

“5G is becoming widely available in Australia but it shouldn’t come with a hefty price tag,” said Kurt Bonnici, Head of Motorola for Australia and New Zealand. “The good news is that with the new Moto G51 5G, consumers can now have an incredible all-round smartphone experience at an affordable price point.”

The ultrawide 6.8″ display offers full HD+ resolution, and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.

The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 480 Plus Mobile Platform, 6GB of memory, and has 128GB of space built in, with an option to add up to 512GB through the microSD card slot. It comes loaded with Android 11, through Motorola’s own My UX.

Camera-wise, the G51 sports a 50 MP sensor, with Quad Pixel technology. A 118-degree ultra-wide angle lens is perfect for fitting more real estate in your shots, while the dedicated Macro Vision camera is perfect for close-ups, capturing impressive detail for such an affordable phone.

A mighty 5,000 mAh battery means this thing won’t need constant charging – as Motorola points out this is “the one thing everyone cares about no matter which device they choose.” They promise over a day’s life on a single charge, which is a good result.

It looks good, too, with rounded corners, a curved design and two sparkly colourways: Indigo Blue and Bright Silver. It has a water-repellent finish too, for those many, many spills.

“This mid-tier device offers the high-end power, entertainment and 5G speeds that is found in premium 5G devices, at a fraction of the cost,” explains Bonnici.

“We’re excited to launch the Moto G51 5G because it delivers great value that Australians have come to expect in the Moto G family.”

The Moto G51 5G is available now at JB Hi-Fi, with a RRP of $399.
