$700m Fugitive Paid Kardashian And DiCaprio To Party
Currently a name in a huge court case, Malaysian fugitive Jho Low allegedly made off with US$700 million in a scam to defraud a sovereign wealth fund so he could live an A-list lifestyle.
The money was spent on extravagant parties that big-name celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Leonardo DiCaprio, Megan Fox and Paris Hilton were paid six-figure sums just to attend, an executive has testified.
Indeed, it is said 47-year-old DiCaprio was once paid US$150,000 and flown to Las Vegas on a private jet to a shindig hosted by Low, who is now on the run after skimming large amounts from the 1MDB Malaysian sovereign wealth fund.
These expenses have been the subject of testimony in a New York federal court, where former Goldman Sachs banker Roger Ng is on trial for money laundering and bribery.
Ng and his then-boss Tim Leissner are said to have helped Low embezzle funds from 1MDB in exchange for bribes and kickbacks.
The estranged husband of model Kimora Lee Simmons (together below), Leissner has pleaded guilty and is working with prosecutors. He will testify against Ng soon.

Alex Cohen, the CFO of Strategic Group, who helped arrange parties for Low, has already testified. The events included guests like Jamie Foxx, Fergie and Sean “Diddy” Combs.
He told the jury Low would cough up outrageous sums to stars to show up – such as US$50,000 to Kim Kardashian, and US$100,000 to Paris Hilton.
Prosecutors are alleging Ng received US$25 million in kickbacks for the scam.
Meanwhile, it’s been said Leissner bought homes “for all the women in his life.”
