Google Teases Fitbit Edge Fitness Tracker Ahead Of October 12 Launch
Google has all but confirmed the arrival of its new Fitbit Edge fitness tracker, releasing teaser images on social media that appear to reveal both the device’s name and its launch date.
The company shared posts on Instagram and X showing what appears to be a side button on the upcoming wearable, accompanied by the message: “Get an Edge on your health. 10.12.26.”
The deliberate capitalisation of “Edge” strongly suggests that Google is preparing to introduce the Fitbit Edge on October 12, following months of leaks surrounding the device.
The new fitness tracker is expected to sit between Google’s entry-level, screenless Fitbit Air and the more advanced Pixel Watch 5, giving consumers another option in the company’s expanding wearable lineup.
Rumours about the Fitbit Edge first surfaced in August when 9to5Google spotted an unidentified fitness tracker in promotional material for Google’s Pixel 11 smartphones.
More recently, Android Headlines published leaked images revealing the Fitbit Edge name, its design and details of its health-tracking capabilities and built-in applications.
French publication Dealabs subsequently reported additional specifications, including battery life and potential European pricing.

According to those reports, the Fitbit Edge could deliver up to seven days of battery life with its always-on display switched off. However, enabling the feature would reportedly reduce battery life to approximately two days.
The wearable is also tipped to launch in Europe for around €179, equivalent to approximately US$200.
Its US pricing remains unclear, although some reports suggest it could be closer to US$180, positioning it above the Fitbit Air, which starts at US$99. No Australian pricing has been announced.
The Fitbit Edge would represent Google’s first major update to its traditional fitness tracker lineup since the Fitbit Charge 6 arrived in 2023.
While the Pixel Watch range offers a broader smartwatch experience, the Edge appears designed for users who want dedicated fitness and health monitoring in a smaller, more affordable device.
The new tracker could also play a role in Google’s wider health and fitness strategy, potentially encouraging more users to subscribe to its Google Health Premium service.
Although Google has stopped short of formally announcing the device, its latest teaser leaves little doubt that a new Fitbit product is imminent.
With October 12 identified in the company’s promotional material, official details about the Fitbit Edge’s specifications, pricing and availability could be revealed shortly.
