Lenovo has started selling its new ThinkTab X11, a rugged Android tablet aimed at business users but carrying one feature that will appeal well beyond the enterprise market: a removable battery.

The ThinkTab X11, first shown at Mobile World Congress 2026, is now available in the US from US$499 for the 128GB model, with a 256GB version priced at US$579.

Its key point of difference is a user-swappable 10,200mAh battery, allowing workers to replace a depleted pack in the field rather than wait for a recharge.

Lenovo also says the tablet can operate in battery-less mode, making it suitable for kiosks, vehicle mounts and shift-based work environments.

The device is built for tougher conditions than a standard consumer tablet. It carries IP68 dust and water resistance and meets MIL-STD-810H durability standards when used with the included rugged case.

Despite the industrial pitch, Lenovo has not skimped on the core specification. The ThinkTab X11 features a 10.95-inch 2560 x 1600 display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, 8GB of RAM, expandable storage via microSD and Android 16 out of the box.

Other features include dual USB-C ports, Wi-Fi 6E, NFC, a headphone jack and Lenovo’s Tab Pen XE stylus. The company is also promising four years of software support and enterprise management options.

There is no cellular model, which may limit its appeal for some field workers.

Australian pricing has not been confirmed, though the entry model converts to roughly A$770 before GST, shipping and local margin.
