You can now watch Pay TV on your Apple tablet (with iOS 5 and higher.)

Foxtel’s Go app is available as part of residential users’ TV subscription.

You can watch 21 live channels including The LifeStyle Channel, Sky News, National Geographic Channel, Discovery Channel, Disney, Cartoon Network, Sports, Play, Fox Sports PLUS 1, 2 3 and 4, plus catch up titles like Rove LA, Grand Designs Australia and Gossip Girl.

And there’s more content to come in 2013.

Watching content on the iPad is “a new way to experience television, anytime, on the go” the Pay TV giant, which is 50:50 owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp and Telstra, said today.

Foxtel has woken up and smelt the coffee on viewing habits, it appears:

“The TV landscape has changed, viewers are not just watching TV in the living room they’re watching TV on the way to work, at the beach or in another room of the house,” said Richard Freudenstein, Foxtel CEO.

Foxtel’s boss also reckons the app is “the biggest thing we’ve launched since digital and iQ, it lets customers take their entertainment with them on the go”.

“We’re really excited and we think our customers will love this new way to watch Foxtel.”

However, no word if there is a Go app on Android tabs in the pipeline.

Two iPad devices can be running Foxtel Go at the same time from the one account. The Foxtel Go App includes Remote Record directly to iQ or MyStar players.

You can watch content on your iPad via 3G/4G networks as well as WiFi.

However, the app will not work for customers using Optus TV featuring Foxtel, Foxtel on Xbox 360, Foxtel on Internet TV or Foxtel on T-Box.
